People in Michigan/Canada who listen to 89x on the radio... [06 Apr 2006|07:22am]

Every night at 7pm the radio dj plays two songs that are not out on the radio and people vote on which song they like the best. The winner of the two gets to come back the next day and compete again. Last night Panic! at the disco was the returning champ and of course lost to "staight to video" By MSI I was shocked to hear that they were playing it on the radio, so of course I called in to vote for them as well. Well they are back tonight and I'm sure they will put it again some lame ass song, so if you get 89x listen at 7 and call in to vote for MSI the numbers are Michigan- 313-298-7999 or Canada- 519-292-5000. Thats all. Xposted

Attention anyone who wants another Tub Ring album or just to help out Tub Ring anyway (They get $10,000 if they win):

Being the cocky person I can sometimes be, I really thought I could do this on my own. But voting Tub Ring up to a 3.9 then having it drop to 3.1 four hours later scares me. I (And Tub Ring of course) really need everyone to vote as much as possible.

To vote follow these simple steps:
2)Click "Launch player"
3)Register near the bottom right
4)Click on Tub Ring - Promise Keeper and give them 5!
5)Give Hellogoodbye and Helifax a 1

Keep in mind:
*Even if the rank doesn't change after you vote, IT STILL COUNTS.
*No e-mail confirmation required (This means you can make up bullshit e-mail addresses)
*I love you forever and ever if you do this.

"Hello all!
Lots to report for all three bands.. too much really, so ill try to
keep it brief.. if you want long winded explainations, go to our message board, I'll try my best to answer questions there.

-Tub Ring is going to appear on MTV2 reality show / contest. We don't
really know how it's gonna work yet, but MTV is flying out to Chicago
to hang out w/ Tub Ring for a few days, and send us on MUSIC MISSIONS,
then film a performance somewhere in Chicago Oct 26 (venue TBA, contest
voting info TBA).

-Tub Ring also has 4 songs being featured on an XBOX 360 game "Amped 3"
- there is another contest involved with this: Go to
http://www.ampedsnowboarding.com and vote for "Promise keeper".
NOTE: this contest is in two parts. SO if we're in the top 20 at the
end of the first part (which is october 18th..and we're at ..1 at this
point, so i dont see that being a problem) we're going to need everyone to
vote again so were also ..1 for the second part.

**SO, Heres the fun part. Tub Ring poses this deal with fans: We win 1
of the contests, we will wake from hibernation for a spring TOUR. We
win both contests, TOUR + NEW ALBUM!!! so there, you also get rewarded
by the gift of music if we win!**

"We're having a few songs featured in the new X-box 360 game "Amped Snowboarding 3" but they're also putting out a soundtrack for the game, and the top twenty scoring bands get to be on it!!!!!! so if you could go and register and give us a 5, that would be wonderful.

so please feel free to pass this around other places where you might think people might vote for us." -Tub Ring

Two things that might be confusing:

*Click on that link and in the upper left corner click on "launch player" to start

*It doesn't give you any "thank you for voting" thing after you vote, but I'm pretty sure it counts your vote.

Vote as much as you possibly can. And thank you to anyone who took the time out to do this

3-2-1 Activate! Material is Online! [31 Aug 2005|12:11pm]

I just thought I'd post this to the Tub Ring community considering Kevin and Rob's newest project 3-2-1 Activate! might interest some of you.

Head over to: http://www.myspace.com/321activate and listen to the first/only song the band has released so far.

While you're there, add them to your friends list, and you'll be kept up to date with itenerary for the upcoming October/November 3-2-1 Activate! tour, and have a chance to listen to new songs as they are released. Rumor has it if enough people comment regarding their like/love/affection for "Eraser" the band will put up another song.

"Tub Ring's 1st DVD will be out in stores Aug 30. It comes packaged with a FREE b-side album. We are accepting pre-orders NOW for this double disk set. All pre-orders will be recieved on OR before AUG 30. ALSO - keyboardist Rob Kleiner will be simultaniously releasing his 1st solo record entitled "No Eyes." Pre-orders are now: Tub Ring's 1st DVD will be out in stores Aug 30. It comes packaged with a FREE b-side album. We are accepting pre-orders NOW for this double disk set."

Place orders on the main page: http://www.tubring.com/main.htm

The DVD is for sure worth the money. Behind-the-scenes type shit, interviews with fans (and Tub Ring themselves of course), an awesome-ass music video for "Habitat", and just some weird shit in general.

And if you're curious, Kevin and Rob have been busy working on new Activate! material and the new Super 8-bit Brother's CD (www.myspace.com/super8bitbrothers) Which will be out sometime this year.

(This entry was cross-posted because we have two Tub Ring lj communities for some reason)

(3-2-1) Activate! Looking for their 2nd Guitarist! Could it be You?! [02 Jun 2005|09:36am]

[ mood | hopeful ]

That's right, (3-2-1) Activate! (Tub Ring/Corpslight) is looking for someone between the age of 20-30 to be our 2nd guitarist. Hell, even if you're 18 we'll take you, so long as you're ready to make this your "end-all-be-all".

We're getting down to crunch time again, and it's been placed on my shoulders to find this new guitarist.

Obviously, or not so obviously, we live in the Chicagoland area (Northwest Suburbs to be exact), so living in that area would be a plus, but if you can fit the bill and make it to rehearsals, etc, then location isn't a problem.

Yes, there are plans to tour.
Yes, there's an album being recorded.
Yes, there are...other things.

So, can you learn some songs?
Can you write songs?

Send me an e-mail: bassist4cl@hotmail.com, and give me your vitals (how long you've played, what sort of equipment, your sign, etc...) You can also hit me up via AIM: deliriumpractice

New here....Peelander-Z anyone? [18 Feb 2005|10:31pm]

[ mood | complacent ]

I noticed this community likes peelander-z. I went to a show of theirs last night, and had the time of my life, so im tentatively posting about it, in hopes ill be accepted, and people will enjoy the pictures of the Peelanders.

I am now a devoted fan of Peelander-Z.

Yes, I did go to the show last night,

Not only was I blown away, but I got to play the drums for them, and Peelander Yellow took a liking to me. I also ended up with an autographed bag, free stickers, and lots of pictures with relativly cute Japanese punk stars! Eeeeeeeeeee.....

I have never experienced anything quite like this.
